Mathematics

In accordance with the national curriculum, learning in Year 7 is built upon the mathematical foundations established at the Primary level, while some later study in our secondary provision is also underpinned by mathematical concepts encountered earlier in the key stage.

Following guidance set out in the national curriculum framework, there are between two and four core concepts taught in each school term. These are broken down into statements of knowledge, skills and understanding that students should aim to achieve. These are listed in the table below.
